Summer’s here and we’ve got oodles of fantastic new products to tickle your fancy!
Straight out of the box you can start driving this SPY-C Tank from your Android and Apple devices. You’ll see what it sees, live on your screen and can easily pan and tilt the camera to have a look around.
The pcDuino is a a powerful single-board computer with a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8, 1GB of RAM and a dedicated GPU. It has HDMI video out, an RJ45 ethernet port, broken out GPIO headers and it can run Linux and Android ICS. A real competitor to the Raspberry Pi!
Are you the greatest living banana pianist? Do you want to turn your curtains into a xylophone? Are you tired of not having buttons made of play dough? Then you need the Makey Makey – Deluxe Kit to find out! Now with jumper wires, copper tape and extra alligator clips.
These are no mere capacitors, these are supercapacitors! By using an electrochemical double layer of carbon aerogel they have incredible capacities, enough that you can actually use them to power things for quite a while and unlike batteries they charge up much faster from simple circuits.
Our selection of 3D printers have all come crashing down by at least 15%. Prices(inc VAT) are down for the UP! Plus by over £300 and the UP! Mini by over £180! These awesome little printers can be used by just about anyone to make incredible objects!
The UP! Plus has a maximum build size of 140mm x 140mm x 135mm and prints layers between 0.2mm and 0.4mm thick and with the UP! Mini’s platform being slightly smaller and a smaller range of print thickness. Both of them can run on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Mac and come ready to go with everything you need to get printing.

Crazy exciting new stuff for you in this post! First up – a way to turn pretty much anything into a switch.
It’s called the Makey Makey, and uses some fairly clever techniques to make anything into a simple touch sensor. When we say anything, we mean it – bananas, lumps of cheese, even people! If there’s one product we’ve seen that encourages craziness more than anything else, this is it!
We’re stocking the new version 2.2 of the Seeeduino Stalker. The board is a cost effective wireless sensor platform, with hardware support for battery power and solar recharging. A simple application would be to fit one of these with a temperature and humidity sensor and put it outside as a wireless weather sensor. It’s all built on Arduino technology, so can be programmed from the Arduino IDE with no problem.
The latest in the PX4 autopilot range is this IO board for the popular AR.Parrot drone. Simply pull out the existing electronics in the Parrot, and replace it with this board along with a powerful PX4 flight management unit. What you’ll end up with is a light-weight UAV with serious computing power onboard. The PX4 IO board also has an Xbee module slot, for telemetry and control.
Finally… on the subject of Xbee modules – the humble chip antenna version that we’ve sold for the last 7 years has been replaced with this PCB antenna version. The specs are the same, but the module is slightly cheaper, with better stock availability.
