The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video.
Several versions of Linux can run on the Raspberry Pi from an SD card (not supplied). You may also need a video lead, usb mouse and usb keyboard to use this board at its full potential. Power is supplied through a micro-USB cable, which could, in theory, come direct from a PC powered USB port!
