Electric Hydrofoiling Boat

Candela, a Swedish company has developed the worlds first modern watercraft! The C-8 is their latest flagship, this all electric boat uses hydrofoiling technology to glide above the water, reducing friction caused by waves allowing it to use 80% less energy. This reduction in friction also means that unlike the more traditional boats, it uses the same amount of energy no matter what speed it is currently travelling at.

While it is currently still not able to travel as far or as fast as regular boats, the C-8 is able to travel for 2 hours, reaching a total distance of 50 nautical miles at a 20 knot cruising speed!
